Lemon Bread

INGREDIENTS

2 tb Shortening
1 c Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tb Ground lemon rind; (just the colored part)
1 1/2 c Flour
1 1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 c Milk
1/2 c Chopped nuts; (my favorite is pecans)
3 tb Lemon juice
1/2 c Sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

TOPPING

Mix all ingredients together in large bowl; beat until smooth. Pour into
well-greased and floured 9x5x3-inch loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees.
Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes.
TOPPING: Combine juice and sugar; spread over bread.
