Monte Christo Sandwich

INGREDIENTS

4 c Rice Krispies; * see note
4 sl Ham
4 sl Swiss cheese
8 sl Bread; ** see note
3 lg Eggs; beaten
2/3 c Milk
1/4 ts Salt
1/4 c Butter; melted

INSTRUCTIONS

* note: Measure cereal and crush down to 2 cups.
**note: I prefer Pepperidge Farm sandwich bread.
Pre-heat oven to 450 deg.F. Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese
between two slices of bread and cut diagonally. Combine eggs, milk and salt
in a shallow pan. Dip sandwiches in this mixture turniong once. Coat evenly
with crushed cereal. Place on a well greased baking sheet. Drizzle with
melted butter. Bake @ 450 deg. F. about 10 minutes or until crisp and
lightly browned. Traditionally served with strawberries and sour cream.
Serving Ideas : Makes a good brunch with broccoli soup
NOTES : Serves 8 easily if used in a full menu.
