INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 400F.  In a large mixing bowl, combine: 1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 cup sugar 1/2 cup butter,softened) 1 tsp. lemon zest
Blend well at low speed of mixer until particals are fine. Press into an
ungreased 8 inch square pan. Bake for 12 minutes. Remove from oven.
Sprinkle evenly with: 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips 6 oz. chopped prunes
Topping: 3/4 cup sliced almonds 1/2 cup sugar 1/3 cup half & half 1/4 cup
unsalted butter
Place topping ingredients in a small sauce pan and bring to a boil. Boil
for 3 minutes, stirring occasionall. Pour ober prune and chocolate pieces
and continue baking for 12 minutes or until lightly browned. While warm,
cut into bars.
