Name: Quick and Easy Peach Cobbler
Ingredients: 2 cn Peaches; 1 cn Peaches; liquid from; 1 Stick butter; melted; 1/2 c Flour; 1/2 c Sugar; 1/4 c Milk; 1 Egg

The idea of being on fire for Christ will strike some people as dangerous emotionalism. 'Surely,' they will say, 'We are not meant to go to extremes? You are not asking us to become hot-gospel fanatics?' Well, wait a minute. It depends what you mean. If by 'fanaticism' you really mean 'wholeheartedness,' then Christianity is a fanatical religion and every Christian should be a fanatic. But fanaticism is not wholeheartedness, nor is wholeheartedness fanaticism. Fanaticism is an unreasoning and unintelligent wholeheartedness. It is the running away of the heart with the head. At the end of a statement prepared for a conference on science, philosophy and religion at Princeton University in 1940 came these words: 'Commitment without reflection is fanaticism in action; but reflection without commitment is the paralysis of all action.' What Jesus Christ desires and deserves is the reflection which leads to commitment and the commitment which is born of reflection. This is the meaning of wholeheartedness, of being aflame for God.

Citing Psalm 118:22, Peter said [in Acts 4], “He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief corner stone.” So in quoting this prophecy about Jesus, Peter is declaring that the most important piece of God’s revelation to man was rejected by the very people who should have seen Him most clearly and esteemed Him most profoundly! But it was God the Father who saw God the Son rejected by His own people. He saw the Son crucified on a cross, thrown away like a rejected stone on a killing hill called Calvary. And it was God the Father who refused to leave His Son in an old dusty tomb and picked Him up, raised Him from the dead and put Him in the most important place as the corner stone. That is why we read in Philippians 2, “For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Phil. 2:9-11).

INGREDIENTS

2	cn	Peaches
1	cn	Peaches; liquid from
1		Stick butter; melted
1/2	c	Flour
1/2	c	Sugar
1/4	c	Milk
1		Egg

INSTRUCTIONS

Drain peaches. Put peaches in baking dish with the liquid from one can of
peaches. Mix the other ingredients together and pour over peaches. Bake at
350 degrees until crust is brown.
