Spicy Noodle Soup

INGREDIENTS

1 qt Chicken broth
4 sl Bacon
1 1" piece ginger root
4 Scallions
3 Garlic cloves
1 tb Sugar
1/4 ts Five-spice powder
1/4 lb Mushrooms
1 Head Napa cabbage
2 tb Wine vinegar
2 tb Tamari sauce
1/4 lb Cellophane noodles
Salt and black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

Bring broth to boil. Dry bacon pieces in large heavy pan over high heat for
2 minutes. In small food processor, place ginger, scallion & garlic.
Process to make a paste. Add to frying pan with bacon. Stir in sugar and
five-spice powder. Stir-fry 1 minute Add mushrooms and cabbage to pan. Stir
fry 1 minute Pour in boiling broth, vinegar and tamari sauce. Simmer a few
minutes. Add noodles, salt and pepper. Simmer 2 minutes. Serve hot in soup
bowls.
Approximately 5-7 minutes.
Per serving (excluding unknown items): 826 Calories; 24g Fat (27% calories
from fat); 17g Protein; 133g Carbohydrate; 32mg Cholesterol; 6694mg Sodium
