Tofu And Vegetable Kebabs

INGREDIENTS

125 g Mushrooms, 4oz
1 Red pepper
1 Green pepper
1 Yellow pepper
1 Red onion
250 g Tofu, 8oz
3 T Dark soy sauce
2 T Medium dry sherry
2 t Dark brown soft sugar
1 Clove garlic, crushed
1/2 t Five spice powder

INSTRUCTIONS

Clean the mushrooms and slice in half lengthways. Deseed the peppers
and cut into 2. 5cm (1 inch) pieces. Peel the onion and cut into 8
pieces.  Cut the tofu into 2. 5cm (1 inch) pieces.  Mix the marinade
ingredients together, add the tofu, toss well and  leave to marinade
for 20 minutes. Drain, reserving the marinade.  Thread the vegetable
pieces and marinated tofu alternately onto  skewers.  Place under a
preheated moderate grill for 8-10 minutes, turning and  basting with
the reserved marinade occasionally.  Notes  Alternately suitable for
