We Love God!

God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

The Lord Jesus Christ gave the proper pattern in the Gospel of John, chapter eight, verse thirty-two, “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” What that truth is, is seen in the previous verse, “My Word.” God's design is from truth to experience, not from experience to truth! The formula: “I have had an experience. I find experiences like mine in the Bible. Therefore my experience is Scriptural” is dangerously misleading.

Let us settle in our minds this great truth, that Jesus Christ was verily and indeed Man. He was equal to the Father in all things, and the eternal God. But He was also Man, and took part of flesh and blood, and was made like unto us in all things, sin only excepted. He had a body like our own. Like us, He was born of a woman. Like us, He grew and increased in stature. Like us, He was often hungry and thirsty, and faint and weary. Like us, He ate and drank, rested and slept. Like us, He sorrowed, and wept, and felt. It is all very wonderful, but so it is. He that made the heavens went to and fro as a poor, weary Man on earth! He that ruled over principalities and powers in heavenly places, took on Him a frail body like our own. He that might have dwelt forever in the glory which He had with the Father, amidst the praises of legions of angels, came down to earth and dwelt as a Man among sinful men. Surely this fact alone is an amazing miracle of condescension, grace, pity, and love.

Islam Islam: Doctrine of ‘Salvation’

Salvation is accomplished by following the ‘Five Pillars of Faith’ according to Surah 10:109:
    1. Recitation of the Shahadah
    2. Five daily prescribed prayers (Salat or Namaz) which include the practice of genuflection and prostration in the direction of Mecca.
    3. Almsgiving (Zakat) – the giving of 1/40 of income.
    4. Fasting (Saum or Ruzeh) during the month of Romadan

    • fasting is practiced from sunrise to sunset in atonement for their sin for the previous year
    • feasting may occur after sunset and/or in early morning before sunrise.
    5. Pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj) at least once during lifetime.
    6. Holy War (Jihad) used to be a sixth essential pillar of faith. Jihad makes it the responsibility of every Muslim to murder anyone who will not embrace Islam. Modern Islam is more moderate and does not encourage this practice. Some Shiaites, however, talk of restoring Jihad as an essential doctrine.
