It is only the fear of God that has the spiritual power to overwhelm all the horizontal fears that can capture your heart. These relational-situational-location fears are only ever put in their proper place and given their appropriate size by a greater fear - fear of the Lord. Perhaps this is a good portion of what is being said in Proverbs when it declares that “fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” (9:10).

Strong Christians refuse to make it about themselves and the engagement in petty battles. It’s not about personal vendettas, but winning the war for Jesus. Weak people get easily offended and use their energy to defend their wounded ego. Their will and their kingdom now becomes more important than God’s will and kingdom. Sparkling Pineapple Punch

1/2 c Sugar
1/2 c Water
2 Three-inch sticks cinnamon
1/4 c Lime juice
1 cn (46 ounces) pineapple Juice, chilled
1 Bottle (1 liter) sparkling water Chilled
1 Bottle (750 milliliters) sparkling white wine, chilled

INSTRUCTIONS

*substitute: 1 Bottle (1 liter) ginger ale
Heat sugar, water and cinnamon to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 15
minutes. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or until chilled.Remove
cinnamon from syrup. Just before serving, mix syrup with remaining
ingredients in punch bowl. 26 SERVINGS (ABOUT 1/2 CUP EACH); 65 CALORIES
PER SERVING.
