WELCOME TO TOPICAL STUDIES

I cannot take credit for the majority of the work it took to produce the topical study. I used three programs from Bible Research Systems In Austin, Texas to create these files. Along with their program called “The Word Processor” I also used their program called “Verse Typist” to import the Scripture text into WordPerfect. I additionally used their program called “Topics” which lists over two hundred topics in the Bible. In short, Bible Research did most of the study work to produce these files; I simply transported the Scriptures into ASCII format. I likewise made some modifications to the index files themselves, that is, I added and subtracted some verses and even included a few additional topics of my own. I likewise will update the files as new topics are added to the study.

All of the files are available on the Electronic Library Exchange via file request or by calling the BBS direct. I have broken the study in to five ZIPped files of about 350K each to make it a little easier to download. As of July 1990, the study has 211 topics plus this documentation file. It is donated to the public domain and I trust no one will attempt to sell this study or in any way make money from it. For a donation of any amount, I will make disk copies of the files and mail them to you which will help save the trouble of downloading the complete file list.

I likewise have made no changes in the way the files are printed in ASCII format. The Bible program I used prints only three letters/numbers to indicate the book of the Bible. For example, 1KI for I Kings, PSA for the Psalms, or JOH for the Gospel of John. I spent many long hours transferring Scripture text into word processed format, reformatting the text in ASCII form, and making up the files for downloading. I thus opted not to make any changes in the books of the Bible as they are found in the files; I.E. the book indicators. Additionally you will find no personal commentary in any of the topic files. The Bible can speak for itself. If you find any errors or would like to make some additions, please contact me at the addresses below and I trust you will find these topics as helpful in your study of God’s Word as I do.

Complete In Him,

Phil Scovell
