Scripture does not give fathers dictatorial power over their children. Children are not to be regarded as property of the parents. Instead, Scripture speaks to parents as stewards of the Lord, responsible to provide a proper nurturing environment for children, whom the Lord has graciously placed into their care. Like all stewards, parents will ultimately give account for how they have fulfilled their stewardship.
“A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion” (Pr. 18:2). The agenda of a fool in conversation is getting things off his chest. Even when he is not speaking, he is not truly listening. He is simply shaping what he will say next. His next volley in the conversation is not returning the ball you served, but serving a new ball.
Slice the potatoes into bitesize pieces and boil until tender, but not
soft. Peel the apple and slice into bitesize pieces (sprinkle with lemon
juice until ready to use). Chop the celery finely. Cool the potatoes by
draining and placing in pan of ice water. Combine all ingredients and mix
with dressing and dill if desired. I used Medford Farms (tm) Creamy Dill
No-Oil Dressing. Chill several hours. Quick and delicious.
