Orange Snowdrops

INGREDIENTS

1/2 c Shortening
1/2 c Butter (no substitutes)
1 c Siftted powdered sugar
1/2 ts Baking soda
1 Egg
1/2 cn (6 oz.) frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1 ts Vanilla
2 c All purpose flour
Orange Frosting

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a large mixing bowl beat shortening and butter with an electric mixer
on medium to high speed about 30 seconds or until softened. Add the
powdered sugar and baking soda. Beat until combined. Beat in the egg,
orange juice concentrate, and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of
the flour as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any
remaining flour.
2. Drop dough from a rounded teaspoon 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie
sheet. Bake in a 375 oven about 8 minutes or until edges are lightly
browned. Cool on cookie sheet for 1 minute. Remove cookies from cookie
sheet and cool on a wire rack.
3. Frost cookies with Orange Frosting. Store in a single layer in an
airtight container up to 1 day. Makes about 36.
Orange Frosting: In a small mixing bowl stir together 1/2of a 6 ounce can
frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed, and 3 cups sifted powdered sugar
until smooth.
