In Shansi I found Chinese Christians who were accustomed to spend time in fasting and prayer. They recognized that this fasting, which so many dislike, which requires faith in God, since it makes one feel weak and poorly, is really a Divinely appointed means of grace. Perhaps the greatest hindrance to our work is our own imagined strength; and in fasting we learn what poor, weak creatures we are-dependent on a meal of meat for the little strength which we are so apt to lean upon.

Wilton Stabilized Whipped Cream Icing

Dairy Tp:frosting 2 Cups

INGREDIENTS

1 ts Unflavored gelatin
4 ts Cold water
1 c Heavy whipping cream
1/4 c Powdered sugar
1/2 ts Clear vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS

Note: Cakes iced with this must be stored in the refrigerator. DIRECTIONS:
Combine gelatin and cold water in small saucepan. Let stand until thick.
Place over low heat, stirring constantly, just until gelatin dissolves.
Remove from heat and cool, do not let set. Whip cream, sugar and vanilla
until slightly thickened. While beating slowly, gradually add gelatin to
whipped cream mixture.  Whip at high speed until stiff.
