God: "I looked for someone to take a stand for me, and stand in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30)

How can I tell the difference between the convicting ministry of the Holy Spirit and the accusing attacks of Satan? Some thoughts: 1. The Holy Spirit puts His finger on a specific sin I have committed, something concrete I can own and confess, but the accusations of Satan are vague and simply demoralizing. 2. The Holy Spirit shows me Christ, the mighty Friend of sinners, but the devil wants me spiraling down into negative self-focus. 3. The Holy Spirit leads me to a threshold of new life, but the devil wants to paralyze me where I am. 4. The Holy Spirit brings peace of heart along with a new hatred of sin, so that I bow before Jesus in reconsecration, but the devil offers peace of mind with smug relief, so that I fold my arms and say, “There, that’s over with.” 5. The Holy Spirit helps me to be so open to God that I allow Him to control the conversation, but the devil tempts me to take off the table certain questions I just don’t want God to talk to me about. We are thankful for our dear Friend, the Holy Spirit.

Reformed interpreters generally must speak (in so many words) of the fulfillment of the ceremonial law, the cancellation/abrogation of the civil law, and the continuance of the moral law. But all this is confusing and completely unnecessary if the whole of the law may be viewed as taken up into Christ and given His new and authoritative interpretation. With this, then, “every detail” of the law (of Moses!) may be observed by the New Covenant believer in precisely the same way: namely, in the way it comes to him from the hands of Christ.

32:1 ¶ Se yon kantik David. Ala bon sa bon pou yon moun lè Bondye pa gade sou fòt li fè, lè Bondye padonnen peche l’ yo!

32:2 Ala bon sa bon pou yon moun lè Seyè a pa mande l’ kont pou sa li fè ki mal, lè li pa gen okenn lide twonpe Bondye!

32:3 Tank mwen pa t’ ankò vle rekonèt peche m’ yo, mwen t’ap cheche sou pye. Tout lajounen, mwen t’ap plenn.

32:4 Lajounen kou lannwit ou t’ap kale m’, Seyè. Mwen fin rann tout ji mwen, tankou tè sèk nan sezon chalè.

32:5 Lè sa a, mwen rekonèt peche m’ yo devan ou, mwen pa t’ kache ou sa m’ te fè ki mal. Mwen di: M’ap rakonte Seyè a tout bagay. Apre sa, ou te padonnen tout peche m’ yo.

32:6 Se konsa, moun k’ap sèvi ou ak tout kè yo gen pou lapriyè ou lè yo nan tray. Si yo nan gwo dlo, anyen p’ap rive yo.

32:7 ¶ Se bò kote ou mwen vin kache. Jou malè w’ap delivre m’. M’ap chante fè konnen jan ou pwoteje m’.

32:8 Seyè a di: M’a louvri lespri ou sou anpil bagay. M’a moutre ou chemen pou ou swiv la. M’a ba ou bon konsèy. M’ap voye je sou ou.

32:9 Pa fè tankou chwal osinon tankou milèt ki san konprann. Yo blije mete bosal ak brid nan bouch yo pou donte yo. Si se pa sa, ou pa ka pwoche bò kote yo.

32:10 Mechan yo gen pou yo soufri anpil. Men, Seyè a ap toujou pwoteje moun ki met konfyans yo nan li paske li renmen yo.

32:11 Nou tout k’ap viv jan Bondye vle l’ la, fè kè nou kontan, chante pou sa Seyè a fè pou nou. Nou tout k’ap mache dwat devan Bondye, rele, fè wè jan nou kontan.
